There is always a way that one scripture in the Bible would just lift me up when I feel low. Yes, these ones in 2 Corinthian 5:14, and 5:21.
14For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
16So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
First, where does my energy to keep loving others come from? It is from Christ's unconditional love of me, that he readily forgives my selfishness and even die to set me free from being responsible to this sin.
Second, how does God see me now all through these days on earth? As a forgiven, precious daughter! I am not a woman walking around with my sins being constantly kept in a record for any kind of "appraisal". That feels so free.
I have to say how touched I feel from time to time when I go back to these two scriptures. That I feel so compelled to walk an extra mile, stay a little longer, show one more gentle smile, forgive one more person, and pray for one more prayer. I am just a new creation, and I can do all of these now through the endless-supply of the power of God.
As an ambassador, I feel honoured to represent the Kingdom of God's salvation, the Kingdom of God's love, and the Kingdom of God's power. He is my king, and I am his subject.
May God use me as his ambassador to those who are lost. Amen
