The Lord said to Moses:" If anyone sins and is unfaithful to the Lord by deceiving his neighbor about something entrusted to him or left in has care or stolen, or if he cheats him, or if he finds lost property and lies about it, or if he swears falsely, or if he commits any such sin that people may do - when he this sins and becomes guilty, he must return what he has stolen or taken by extortion, or what was entrusted to him, or the lost property he found, or whatever it was he swore falsely about. He must make restitution in full, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the owner on the day he presents his guilt offering.
In one of my business occasions, I was involved as a witness of a thefting incident to seeing an office maid found a lost mobile phone and lie that she did not but kept the property as hers.
At last, the one who lost her property said," Thank you for your stand for truth and for taking all the trouble to be witness in this case. Mr XX, thank you for handling this case in a fair manner.
As we said yesterday we have all learnt something from this experience. I am complete with this. (And ready to buy a new phone!) Thanks everyone."
The employer (Mr. XX) of the suspected office maid said, "what I have learnt is "when things happen, let it happens and be bold to face the process." This incident also let him to have reviewed that he was a person afriad of confrontation for truth.
The policeman told us that, "It is not the case that if you offer forgivenss, the thief will commit his/her wrong doing and give back the stolen matter to the owner. As an adult, once they decided to tell lies, they have a strong will to lie to the last and making more lies to cover up one by one."
Thanks God, the Leviticus scripture was always besides me in this case. I offered my justice and righteousness to the incident without hiding anything I saw for timidation.
